BRA Annual General Meeting

Bucket Racing Associations Annual General Meeting ended up being a marathon affair with a lot of ground to cover. The meeting was ably  chaired by President Ken Lindsay with Vice President Trevor Lusby and Secretary Lyle Bennett.(3 wise men!) There was a good attendance of members and it was great to see some young blood there.

The first item up for discussion was for tyre choice to be free for Motolites and after some discussion it was decided to trial an open tyre rule for a year and revisit the issue at the  next AGM which means racing slicks are in.

Round Three of Bucket Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park South Circuit.

On the days preceding the event some of the worst weather seen  hit NSW, even snowing in parts of the State. It looked like some competitors might not even make it to the event.
However the weather forecasters were predicting a fine sunny day for Saturday and sure enough it  turned out to be a perfect day for racing. The event was at the the new South Circuit at Eastern Creek now called Sydney Motorsport Park the first time our Club held a meeting there.
The new track proved to be a big hit with the riders with very few complaints. All the Championships were settled and a great days racing was had by all.

As everything was new a few glitchs arose but were ably handled thanks to the efforts put in by the PCRA officials.

Get well wishes to Garry Briggs and Shane Wilcox two bucketeers that came to grief during the day.

If you live in NSW and have ever wanted to go bike racing this is the place to be. Home brewed bikes on race tracks offers outdoor fun while racing, and hours of indoor pleasure, home brewing your special machine!

A full list of the bikes that you can use are in our Rules Section. But if you want to buy one ready made see the Links page and in particular The Australian Road Racing forum. Otherwise contact a committee member and see if they know of any bikes for sale.

Anyway, browse around this site and check us out. If you are interested in racing either contact anyone on the Club Committee or come along to one of the meetings on the Race Calendar, check out the racing and introduce yourself.

Even if you don't want to race, we can get you on the smelly side of the fence in one of the best seats in the house as a flag marshal - A day at the races for free!!
